All things being equal, based on some of the betting options, I'd think it more advantageous to bet at the track pari-mutual than vs. a sports pari-mutual if the take-out was the same.
But pari-mutual betting, in technical terms, sucks. You cannot lock in better than market numbers like you can betting sports. And the vig is outrageous.
To draw a very strong analogy, I can bet sports futures with a take-out of around 20%. These bets are VERY similar to horse races. I can bet who to win divisions, conferences, superbowl, and get some great longshot odds. Also, there are numerous combinations. I've found these bets easy to win at, simply by picking off weak numbers posted by select books. Turn Nevada into one book pari-mutual -16% sports town, and CRUNCH! Nobody would win. Ok, a few people would win, but it would not be me or you.
