Dunbar-- Could you explain something to me--

My math/statistics background is EXTREMELY weak- and i dont understand something-- if you could clarify- id certainly appreciate it.
You stated, "His fluctuations are going to be so huge the way he is betting that his final results won't mean much."
From the way i understand things-- if in fact- you believe-- with the way he is betting- that his fluctuations are going to be huge--
wouldn't his final results be the only thing that mattered- or actually DID mean something?In other words- in the short term- since you believe his fluctuations are going to be wild- his results may be erratic- wouldn't the only way to truly assess his ability- be to look at the end result- and not be clouded by the 'roller coaster' ride you feel he's gonna take?
I assume im missing something-- because it seems to me that the opposite of what you're saying- would be true. Please help me out. Thanks in advance.
