Historical winning bettors can do their own thing. Others may want to consider the below:
1. Identify all handicapped games you want to play (your picks or others)
2. Get the market average line on those games.
3. Bet only the games you like in 1, AND that you get at least 1/2 point of help in the line offered by someone.
This way, a 51% picker will get into the black. This is how I recommend most bettors play. It is like an inexperienced counter Wonging into what he believes are positive shoes. When you are first starting, Wong into the shoes with all the good rules. That way, even if your counting (capping!) isn't perfect, you should be ok.
