Week 1 Picks

I like the activity. Personally, I'm still feeling my way in the college game. I hung around last year and had a good experience, so I figure I might do a little posting here and there, if for nothing else but monitoring purposes.

I'll lay down two teams off my early lean list.

UNLV +1
CLEMSON +3

LV may be a gutsy pick given their schizophrenic nature, as Ben has already noted-- "nutty like a Crazy Horse II stripper." They were 3-8 ATS last year (value?). They lost at Toledo by 17 last year in a game they actually out-FD'ed Toledo by 2-1 margin. Toledo has a big, huge OL and a good running game, but they lost a very good QB for the second straight year, which should play into UNLV's strength/weaknesses-- the Rebels have lost both starting CBs but have a good front 7 with a big-time LBing corps. They are also loaded at RB and WR with a competent QB. Hopefully their upset at Col. St. in last year's finale carries over into this year's opener.

As far as Clemson, Ben covered it, especially the part about David Greene being exposed. I'm not a believer in him.

I also want to add N.Texas, but I'm going to be stubborn and wait.
