South Florida @ Alabama & Maryland @ NIU

It's still two weeks off, but right now I'm leaning toward South Florida +17. They are comming off a 9-2 season against some C-USA teams and the like. They have some scoring potential and I think that alabama is surrounded by so much termoil, the Bulls have an excellent chance to pull a shocker. In his first season, Alabama alum Mike Shula is trying to put the crimson tide back on the map. In recent years, scandal and NCAA violations have taken their toll on the once mighty Crimson Tide. I hate to try judge teams before i see a play, but of the first week games, this one is most interesting.

Also, covering Machine Northern Illinois (+7.5) goes up against an injured Maryland team. The huskies are comming off a season that saw them cover 9-2 ATS. This year they are senior laden and look to turn a few heads in the MAC. This is also one to watch as game day gets closer.
