Moving off of numbers...

I know this is a strategy the syndicates often use to get numbers they like. Often times they even get their followers ("screen watchers") to bet the game even higher and then they come back harder on the side they like.

It is combatted somewhat on the key numbers by converting to a money line. For example, a big hit at -3 may push the line to -3 (-125) or something. It's tough to get a move across three or seven, especially in the NFL, but it does happen.

If you've got a book you can manipulate, go to it.

I'm not an expert on this sort of thing so I'm sure someone like Frank B or Fez can explain in greater detail. It does work though.
