book moving line off 7 on small wager

this happened in the CFL, so the 7 is not as important. but anyways, I wagered $200 on Toronto -7 and they moved the line to 7.5. last week I wagered $500 on Calgary -8.5, and they moved the line to 9.5. Both times, none of the other books had/have moved their lines off of the original number within the next 24 hours, so it is very possible that the book i am wagering with is moving lines off of my wager alone.

they are pretty big, and they would not move off a key number based on a small bet in the NFL or in college...so this only pertains to the CFL. I believe they will take wagers as large as $1000 in one shot.

so, assuming they will take $1000 in one shot, and assuming I'm not afraid of heat from them, what is the correct strategy if there is a team I like where the line is 3 or 7?

in the NFL and college, are the 3s and 7s important enough that if a situation like this came up you'd wager small ($200) on the team you don't like, just to move the number, and then bet the max (assume $1000) on the team that you do like...thus getting the half point off of the 3 or 7?

seems like instead of laying 1100 to win 1000, the wager is really 900 to win 800 or -112.5 - thus buying the half point off of the number for an additional 2.5% only. I would imagine this is worth it in the NFL, and maybe college ... but maybe close to fair in CFL.
