When To Bet a Teaser

I understand most of the reasoning behind why we tease +1.5 to +2.5 dogs and -8.5 to -7.5 chalk, so here's my question... When is generally the best time to lock in a team at the above spreads for the purposes of a 2-team, 6 pt. teaser? For example, if a team starts out at +2.5, do you jump on them or wait to see if the line moves to +3, which would make them an undesirable team to tease? Basically, when do you place your teaser bets? Is any team that moves through an acceptable "teasing range" at some point during the week worth teasing, regardless of where the spread winds up? Or is it ONLY where the line winds up that ultimately determines their teasability?

Thanks in advance, I appreciate all those who will help me graduate from my "Newbie" status as quickly as possible.

Anyone else care to put their $.02 in? I'd really like some more opinions! (nt) -- Goats -- 5 Sep 01, 8:05 am
