I didn't know Gordon lived in New York and did his handicapping there. How does he get his bets down? It's illegal to bet on sports in New York and all the neighboring states as well. Messenger bets are illegal in Nevada although I am curious as to how they can enforce a stupid law like that and if anyone has actually been convicted of it? He could bet online which is what I suspect, if he bets at all. Since much of sports betting involves line shopping, suppose he finds a weak line at some off-shore book which he bets into but the bookie delibitly made the line weak to encourage action because the book is running a Ponzi scheme which seems to be common among off shore bookies. If the Gordon pick loses, the off shore book makes a bundle; if it wins, he skips. Although the Gordon pick was right from a handicapping viewpoint, it should really be considered a loss if the line could not be bet elsewhere. How is this situation counted?
