May I weigh in here?

First of all, I'm subscribing to Dan's picks this year. I'll be more than happy to post my opinion each week as to the integrity and playability of Dan's selections. However, I will not post those selections out of respect for his work (unless I get permission to post plays after the games have gone off). Now the question will arise if I am posting legitimate results available to an average numbnuts (me) based on Dan's recommendations.

Some other comments: I found bj21 3-4 years ago and the site has improved my dismal blackjack game. Though I am not a long term winner, SW and a core of respected posters including Don S. have increased my enjoyment and understanding of the requirements for winning. Thanks to them for their assistance.

I have to make "wagers" on people and their ability to perform in my line of work. Don recommended Dan Gordon last year on the sports pages and my decision based on Don's highly regarded reputation was to go ahead and sign up for the remainder of the NBA season with Dan. This occurred in early Feb. '01 and to be honest, I lost a few units through the remainder of the regular season and picked most of that back up in the play-offs. What I did learn during this less than stellar run was, after several phone and e-m communications with Dan, is that I am confident that he is impeccably honest and extremely knowledgeable.

Just so you have a feel for my mindset here, I've signed up for the entire SSB package and am already glad that I did so. I also signed up for TwoMinuteWarning (just had a nice conversation with Roland today and the guy strikes me as being for real). So these 3 sites are going to set me back $1100, what a dummy I am as SSB has already produced more than that.

What I'm trying to say here is that I'm not a handicapper of games but of people. I'm wagering that all of the people mentioned above are of the highest quality. How many of the posters who are trying to verify every last twig that DG has played the last 20 years wager a nickel or more per game on less reliable info than Don's recommendation? What's a few units to find out?

I hope this didn't sound shrill, sometimes one has to make decisions on less than complete info. I am absolutely looking forward to the input from SW, StevieY, Colin, Fez, Don and many others this coming year. They might even make a handicapper out of this user yet.

PS to SW: I feel your competitive nature is the reason that you've posted re Dan Gordon. I agree with Stevie, it's not which road you take to pos EV land, just that you got there. Thanks for taking me along for the ride.
