To make $50 per hour at poker you must play $30-$60 or higher. This is higher than limits at Paradise Poker. So you must drive to a game and wait until enough bad players arrive to create good conditions. And you note only 5 out of 1000 active players can accomplish this.
By contrast, this is the win rate of a green chip blackjack counter. It is pretty easy to memorize a blackjack strategy and master it with a few dozen hours of software drills. And you can increase your level without reducing win rate if you can avoid detection.
Blackjack is like hitting a punching bag clown. Sometimes it bounces back and hits you, but you are in control.
Poker is like hitting somebody who defends himself and hits back. You need to find less skilled and weaker opponents.
Sports is like fighting a professional boxer. You can't hope to win 10 rounds. You can only hope to outpoint him for 1 round where you choose the venue and then quit. But the purse is much larger.
