Arena pick

Indiana +17.5 San Jose

San Jose is the best team in the Arena Football League. They are undefeated so far, 11-0. Indiana is a mediocre team, currently 5-6, but outscoring their opponents by a slim margin of 521-494. Clearly San Jose is the class of Arena Football. With their 11th win last week, they clinched a tie for their division and clinced a first round bye in the playoffs.

Why do I like Indiana? These are the reasons :

1. My magic formula has San Jose as a 12.5 point favorite. All the other games this week, and for the past 3 weeks have not surpassed 5 points (which is the point where I think about making a wager).

2. So why is the formula and the line so different? I wonder if there's an injury or something like that...nothing. Could it simply just be that San Jose is so good that the linesmakers and public bettors think they are invincible? This seems like a plausible reason. San Jose does have the abiliity to beat Indiana by 30. They are the St. Louis Rams of the AFL. I would much rather have a 5 point "edge" if Indiana was at home, but I'll take this anyway.
