NCAA bet timing

With a few last minute suspensions announced today, I began to wonder if one should wait until close to gametime to wager on college sports. Kids will be kids, and a lot can happen in a few days. The loss of a starting QB or middle-linebacker can drastically change the whole complexion of a game. What was a sharp bet on Monday may become a rusty butterknife by Friday. Any opinions?
